Symptoms
After upgrading to version SDL4.1, and when associating Servers from different versions to the same Service Packages (3.7 and 4.1), the following phenomenon might happen:
- Some ValueApps are not selected any more in the Service Pack VA list, but available for re-adding (for example - "shared ssl").
- The same ValueApps exist in "available ValueApps" column and in the "selected ValueApps" column.
Resolution
This is work as design of VA mapping between 3.7 and 4.1.
Because some VAs exist for both versions, and have their unique properties, we had to keep both VA in the list.
There are two options:
1) Go over the lists of VA for each of the Server Groups and add both VA appearances (both should be in the Selected ValueApps list).
2) Fix the "duplication" using those steps (Note – you will not be able to continue the upgrade process, therefore perform this option only when the upgrade has completed):
a) Edit grs.ini (DCM configuration file ~P.VDS/etc/grs.ini) and disable the option "upgrade_3_7_to_4_1_enabled"> zero)
b) Wait for the next synchronization to take place (the next time Cluster_report is running).
c) Go over all the Server Groups and update them with the relevant VA (the list will change after the change in the grs.ini).
d) Go over all the Service Packages and update them with the relevant VA (the list will change after the change in the grs.ini).
Please be aware that mixing SDL3.7 and SDL4.1.1 servers into one server group would make 4.1.1 functionality limited.
