Last updated by: system APPLIES TO:
  • Plesk 8.1 for Windows
  • Plesk 8.2 for Windows

Symptoms

Custom changes to AWStats setting need to be made, but Plesk keeps overwriting them.

Resolution

Settings overwriting can be prevented by configuring the domain configuration file located in %plesk_dir%Additional\AWStats\wwwroot\cgi-bin\

The file name is similar to awstats.<domain name>.conf where <domain name> is a name of a domain. Changes made to this file will permanently configure web statistics on the domain.
Note: All changes made in awstats.<domain name>.conf on domain level in %plesk_vhosts%<domain name>\statistics\webstat\AWStats\wwwroot\cgi-bin\ will be overwritten by the file from %plesk_dir%Additional\AWStats\wwwroot\cgi-bin\

But there is a list of parameters that are required by Plesk and will be overwritten in any case:

LogType, LogFormat, SiteDomain, HostAliases, DNSLookup, DirData, DirCgi, DirIcons, SaveDatabaseFilesWithPermissionsForEveryone, DefaultFile, LogFile, HTMLEndSection
